Piping Modeling Capabilities, Stress Analysis, and System Redesign.

Presti & Company, Inc. can perform engineering stress analysis of three dimensional piping systems. We have the ability to evaluate the effects of temperature, pressure, weight and anchors, supports or restraints.  External static or transient loads can also be applied and results examined. Piping configurations are computer modeled, material properties are identified and results mathematically generated with technical evaluation of the effects of calculated loads, moments and deflections. During evaluation, systems are verified for compliance with the ASME B31 piping code or the applicable governing code. The calculated loads, moments and deflections are checked for code compliance. The stress analysis reports include graphics depicting stress concentrations and high stress areas of greatest concern. Our design teams can then recommend appropriate pipe configuration changes to reduce inherent stresses and prolong system life and/or recommend a preferred installation.

SNOW Assistance for Property Management Clients.

Presti & Company, Inc. has declared an unprecedented level of assistance to our Property Management, Architecture, and Commercial Property Owner Clients.
We have decided to make our fleet of company trucks, along with an employee, available during this storm to any of our clients who may need assistance, and specifically access to any of their properties. Please contact our offices via email or phone and we will be glad to be of assistance.
Presti has various four wheel drive vehicles used predominately for our construction inspection business and we are making these available to assist clients. Clients should be advised that while contracts are in-place for snow removal and for payment clearing, the prudent property manager verifies the vendor's work to ensure it is done thoroughly and properly. We are hearing rumors that plow drivers are taking tips to assist stranded motorist outside property limits. While a storm like this should heighten the level of assistance offered to our fellow motorists, it should not be at the expense of the property.
In addition, Presti & Company, Inc. is available to assess and inspect any property damage that may result from snow load problems and the usual plowing mishaps. With thirty inches of snow..... they'll be a few hang-ups. Prudence now will be helpful and keep costs down during the spring cleanup.
We are here to assist you!!

Snow, Snow, Snow!!!

Lots of the white stuff here. In Dulles reports are stating 30" total snowfall. We have measured 26" inches at Potomac Falls High School.. As of about 6 PM this evening our offices had lost power so there will be limited access to networks and email but we suspect systems will be up and running soon.
Stay tuned, if you have a facilities problem you can email or call our cell phones. Presti & Company, Inc. stands waiting to assist our clients weather this storm.

NC and NJ with 25 others adopting NEC 2008

As of November 2009, 27 states including North Carolina and New Jersey have adopted the National Electric Code, NEC, 2008 also know as NFPA 70. Understanding the requirements and practical application of the NEC is paramount to the practicing MEP consulting engineer and over the past few years, while we have seen improvements in enforcement, their remains much mis-application of this code. Presti & Company, Inc. stays abreast of changes in jurisdictions where we practice engineering. We are licensed in 8 states including Virginia, District of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, New York as well as North Carolina and New Jersey.
Other states recently adopting the NEC 2008 include Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Washington, and Wyoming
